The Colorless Observer
In this series of self-portraits, I place myself within an entirely white void, systematically "stripping away" color. In a strict scientific sense, color does not exist; it is merely our brain's interpretation of various frequencies of electromagnetic radiation. We are not our emotions; emotions are temporary attachments that cling to the Self.
During meditation, I visualize these emotional states as vibrant colors gradually detaching and fading from my body. By shedding these "emotional entropies," I aim to reach a state of absolute composure and equanimity.
The all-white setting represents the "Vacuum State"—the primordial field of infinite potential before the emergence of form. As the colors recede, the physical self dissolves into the surroundings. This process is an inward inquiry, a subtractive journey to find the most essential and primordial version of the Self.
By removing the "noise" of temporary feelings and stripping away all secular definitions, these portraits manifest the 'True Self' as it weaves into the infinite grid, becoming one with the underlying frequencies of existence. It is an exploration of what remains when every external label—role, title, and social expectation—is gone. It reveals that at our core, we are not the colors of our experiences, but the white light that contains them all.
